Mark Knopfler Concert

Tonight I saw Mark Knopfler at Meadowbrook in Auburn Hills, MI. I love that venue because one can sit on the grass and not be that far away. There is not only grass behind the seats, but two strips of grass (complete with trees) on either side of the pavillion. I have my favorite spot by a certain tree on one of the side strips. Unfortunately it was taken this time, but I sat nearby. When it gets near dusk, bats come out too. I saw four bats swooping around catching insects. Anyhow, I love seeing concerts at that place. Although I didn’t know most of the songs, it was very enjoyable. He played a few Dire Straits tunes like “Sultans of Swing” and “Money for Nothing” which really got the crowd going. Everyone stood up and many were dancing. That’s the kind of thing I like to see at a show. So many have such dull, unenergetic crowds these days.
