Santana Concert

Tonight was the Santana concert. It was a sold-out show at the DTE Energy Theater, formerly known as Pine Knob. This was my fourth time seeing him. The first was in 1999 when he was doing the “Supernatural” Tour. He wasn’t so popular then. I had tickets for row BBB in the orchestra pit. I was second row, about 10 feet from him throughout the performance. That will never happen again. Ever since that album got more young people into his music, the shows are always packed and there’s not much chance at getting a good seat. I had row UU and ZZ is the last row. I was online before tix went on sale, refreshing the page until they did, and that’s still the best I could do.

He opened with “Jingo” from the first album. I had hoped for some of my favorites, but it didn’t happen. It was a pretty good show, but I think the past times I saw him were better.
